OUR CURRICULUM

Our Curriculum has been created by combining decades of experience of teachers and our faculty that have backgrounds teaching in the British Early Years Foundation and Montessori program.

The curriculum combines the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the  Montessori approach.

It’s an approach that values the human spirit and the development of the whole child to allow children to grow emotionally,  physically, intellectually and socially. We cater to children aged 1 - 4 years and offer an exciting, creative and  bilingual learning experience.

OFFERINGS

Little Wonders is providing three options for enrolment.

  1.  Morning session is from 8am to 12pm

  2.  Afternoon session is from 1pm-5pm

  3.  Morning + Day Care is from 8am-5pm

The Morning and Afternoon sessions will be identical in the curriculum and activities, offering parents an alternative schedule to the typical morning preschool hours.

The Morning + Day Care option shall provide the children additional meals and snacks and offer play time and an environment to nurture, care for and additional time to develop each child's socialisation and creativity.

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE

Dive Right In

This stage of development involves providing children with opportunities to experience a rich language environment. The Montessori language materials are extensive and assist the children to develop confidence and skill in expressing themselves, and to speak and listen in a range of situations. It also prepares them for writing.  This may be taught in a bilingual setting.

SENSORIAL MATERIALS

Fun and Challenging

A child’s first learning experiences are achieved through their senses of touch, taste, smell and hearing. The sensorial materials provide opportunities to use these senses. They develop the children's level of observation and discrimination, and increase their vocabulary

MATHEMATICS

An Exceptional Learning Experience

Mathematics involves the introduction to pre-math concepts such as sorting, matching and counting. The Montessori math materials offer a systematic approach to learning through the use of objects, while slowly helping the child in understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems, and describing shapes, spaces and measures.

LITERACY

Dive Right In

Literacy development involves teaching and encouraging children to link sounds and letters and to begin to read and write. The children have access to a wide range of materials to support their development in this area.

UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD

Dive Right In

This area of development offers opportunities for the children to explore a wide range of topics through activities and materials based on real-life experiences. They are able to make sense of their physical world and their community by further exploration and investigation during our many educational trips.

PHYSICAL

Fun and Challenging

This development takes place through activities such as dancing and drama. We invite specialists to lead music and drama activities with the children during the academic year, and the children take part in weekly exercise sessions.

EXPRESSIVE ARTS AND DESIGN

An Exceptional Learning Experience

Children are given opportunities to use and experiment with a wide range of media and materials. They are encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in art, music, movement, dance, sports, role play and design and technology.

EVERYDAY LIVING (PRACTICAL LIFE)

An Exceptional Learning Experience

This stage in our curriculum establishes a link between the home and nursery. The various activities carried out by the children teach them how to care for their environment and to contribute towards the cultural and social life of the classroom. Everyday living activities aid the children's intellectual growth and develop their co-ordination in movement, balance and grace.
